About the Role
Western Downs Futures is a collaborative place-based initiative led by the community and industry in the Western Downs, enabled by local and state governments.
Be part of the development and creation of this collective impact system whose vision "connected communities, alive with opportunities, growing together" will steer the direction of the future of the region.
If you are a social change expert, a detail-oriented data collector, with experience maintaining stakeholder relationships, and project management this role will be great for you. Be at the forefront of a changing world and work with Western Downs Futures dedicated stakeholders and the dynamic team at Western Downs Regional Council to help build the conditions for Western Downs Futures to become an incorporated organisation with strong governance and robust funding arrangements.
This position can be based at any of our major regional centres across the Western Downs (Dalby/Chinchilla/Miles/Tara or Wandoan). The role is full time, Fixed Term for an initial 12 months, with the possibility of extension (pending grant funding).

- Practical - can deliver on time, on budget and stay within the scope of a project. Someone who is organised and able to translate ideas into action.
- Strategic Thinker - can read the environment and understands the dynamics of power and politics in collective impact systems. Aligns action to strategic priorities and the vision.
- Passionate about our Purpose - Embodies passion for the future of the Western Downs and uses this to gather support for the initiative.
- Community Translator - understands the different language used by stakeholders and can serve as a bridge between the various communities, industry and government groups. Ability to communicate with audiences and can advocate for stakeholders who are not in the room.
- Commitment - to having long-term involvement in the community and to the future of the Western Downs is desirable.
Knowledge and Education
Essential:
Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience with Stakeholder management, preferably in a place based collective impact environment.
Desirable:
Stakeholder Relationship Management, Project Management qualification or similar
