Western Sydney Health Alliance Program Manager
Employment Type: Temporary Full Time (up to 30 June 2025), 35 hours per week
Salary From: $2,235.90 per week + 11% superannuation
Reports To: Executive Director
Location: Campbelltown City Council. May operate at other member council offices and health partners.

The Western Parkland City is served by the Councils of the Blue Mountains, Camden, Campbelltown, Fairfield, Hawkesbury, Liverpool, Penrith and Wollondilly. These eight Councils have committed to working collaboratively for our region through the formation of a partnership called The Parks.
The Western Sydney Health Alliance is a commitment under the Western Sydney City Deal created to improve community health. Delivering on this commitment is the Health Alliance Steering Committee whose core membership includes the eight Parkland Councils and key health partners, including South West Sydney Local Health District, Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District, South West Sydney Public Health Network and Nepean Blue Mountains Public Health Network.
About the role:
The Health Alliance Steering Committee is now seeking a temporary full-time Program Manager for up to 12 months (possible extension) to provide leadership, coordination and program management support for the Western Sydney Health Alliance. Projects will address themes such as improving access to health and wellbeing services, liveability and connections, and healthy lifestyles. While the position will be based at Campbelltown City Council, it will work directly with the Health Alliance Steering Committee under the guidance of the Executive Director for The Parks, Sydney’s Parkland Councils, who is also based at Campbelltown City Council.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:
- Tertiary qualification in a health and planning related discipline and/or significant experience in program management preferably in a health, local government and/or community services environment.
- Sound understanding of place-based and solution-focused initiatives that drive transformational change including knowledge of urban design and social planning’s role in preventing chronic diseases.
- Sound understanding of primary health care systems and local community services within the context of integrated models of care, fostering a comprehensive approach to health management.
- Significant experience in program management, preferably in health, local government, or community services environments, with a focus on fostering strong partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to negotiate agreements, manage multiple stakeholders, and navigate changing and diverse environments with adaptability, resilience, and a solutions-focused approach.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to work autonomously and contribute positively to project teams.
- Proficiency in managing complex health-related projects, including planning, contractor management, financial monitoring, and project evaluation and reporting, alongside excellent written and oral communication skills, including conflict resolution.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) and other relevant software applications, coupled with the ability to work flexibly and travel to the eight councils within the Western Parkland City, as required for stakeholder engagement and project oversight.
- Current Class C drivers licence.
