The Role:
In this critical stand-alone role, the WHS Coordinator will oversee all aspects of workplace health and safety across LCS as well as maintain the company’s WHS management system. This will also include:
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of worksites to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement control measures.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 45001 OHS & ISO 14001 Environmental, ISO9001 Quality.
- Review and maintain WHS policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with legislative requirements and industry standards.
- Support the delivery of WHS training programs and site toolbox talks.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain accurate records related to WHS activities, including incident reports and risk assessments through the WHS management system.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders on WHS matters as required.
- Provide advice and guidance to management and employees on WHS issues, promoting a positive safety culture.
About You:
- Relevant qualifications in WHS or a related field.
- Proven experience working in a WHS role, within the construction or civil environment.
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
- A commitment to quality management promoting a positive safety culture within the company.
