The purpose of this role is to drive WHSE compliance through supporting and implementing our Safety, Health, and Environmental Management System to ensure all areas and associated risks are effectively managed across the sites. The role will be based at North Fremantle or Mile End site.
Key accountabilities include:
- Assist with the reviewing and implementation of company and site policies and procedures at the sites.
- Undertake regular site visits to conduct audits, inspections, and observations to ensure sites are meeting the requirements of WHS & E legislation and company policies and procedures.
- Assist with WHSE improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate rehabilitation and return to work programs in conjunction with site Return to Work Coordinators and liaise with Workers Compensation Insurers on open claims and progress on premium renewals.
- Work with Site Management to deliver strategies to reduce workers compensation claims.
- Provide support to sites in the risk management of hazards and implementing control measures.
- Provide support to sites on completing incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Provide support to sites to implement Allied Pinnacle’s induction and training program utilising internal and external resources as appropriate.
The successful applicant will possess:
- Evidence of a competent level of WHS & E technical/ professional knowledge.
- 5-10 years’ experience in a similar role within FMCG environment.
- Previous experience implementing and managing a WHSE management system.
- Previous experience in supporting safe behaviour at all levels in previous roles.
- Previous experience in Workers Compensation, Injury Management and return to work processes.
- Strong planning, organisational skills and communication and influencing skills.
- Strong Risk management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in Injury management and return to work.
- Certificate IV or Diploma in WHS.
- Certificate IV Training & Assessment.
- Experience in working to deadlines and carrying out tasks diligently.
- Good communication and computer skills.
- The ability to work independently and consistently.
- Confidence to use initiative and to make decisions where required.
