Narellan Pools is offering a role where you can expand your knowledge of WHS and gather experience to propel your WHS career. The role forms a critical part of the team at our largest Australian Manufacturing site and will also be part of the National EHS team across the Australia and New Zealand business.
This position will report directly to our National WHS Manager, who will guide and mentor you in all aspects of WHS compliance. You will be responsible for assisting in managing current WHS standards, proactively managing any injuries or incident that may occur, and assist in day-to-day support in our medium sized, high quality manufacturing plant.
You will also support the National WHS Manager with improvements and plans for our Stapylton facility. This is a hands-on role with the expectation you will be present on the manufacturing floor to support our drive and drive our safety culture.
In this role you will:
- Assist in driving workplace cultural change through focus on positive behavioural safety practices
- Manage investigations and provide return to work support
- Identifying risks, incidents and targeting root causes and preventative actions
- Ensure that local, departmental and company procedures are followed for all our operational requirements
- Assist in Managing Health and Safety Rep meetings and minutes
- Developing and running tool box meetings
- Implementation of WHSE policies and procedures
Our ideal candidate will
- Hold professional qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety (Cert IV) or equivalent
- Understand WHS legislation requirement in QLD, and across Australia
- Be comfortable in a manufacturing facility taking a hands-on safety approach
- Be well-organised, flexible and have a can-do attitude in every element of your role
- Have an eye for detail and thoroughness in following a process.
- Able to exhibit initiative
- Assertive yet friendly manner couple with good verbal communication skills
- Be able to work autonomously when required as well as in a team.
- Have sound technical and computer skills
- Passionate WHSE professional and self-starter
- Enjoy multi-tasking and able to adapt to the needs of a thriving business
