An exciting opportunity is now available for a highly motivated and experienced WorkCover Legal Assistant to make a positive career move.
In this interesting role, you will be an integral part of their professional and vibrant WorkCover team, primarily supporting a friendly Partner (and team at times) with WIRC referrals, Impairment Benefits claims, Statutory Benefit disputes, Serious Injury Applications and litigated common law claims. Your duties will therefore include, but not be limited to:-
- lodge Impairment Benefit claims and Serious Injury applications;
- request medical material, insurer files and make FOI applications;
- issue common law proceedings;
- manage calendars and organise appointments;
- liaising with clients, barristers, principals, interpreters and solicitors;
- maintain files (open and close new files, archive files, managing file information via practice management software);
- prepare and type legal documents, briefs to counsel and correspondence;
- prepare client invoices & liaise with Finance Team on settlement matters; and
- collaborate with lawyers on day-to-day client and matter needs.
To be considered, you will have a minimum of 3 years WorkCover Legal Secretarial experience, as well as:-
- polished legal secretarial and administrative skills;
- advanced word processing abilities;
- strong attention to detail;
- a flexible attitude and the ability to work in a collaborative team; and
- the ability to work under pressure.
