Seeking an experienced Work Health and Safety Officer to join a government team in East Perth Your new company A major State Government health department based in Perth CBD, are seeking an experienced Work Health & Safety Officer to join a busy team. You will be required to work full-time hours, with flexible working arrangements on offer. This will be an initial temporary engagement, with a view of further extension for the right person. As the WHS Officer you will be responsible for multiple duties, including
Managing non-complex Workers' Compensation claims and Return to Work Programs
Supporting the HR team in the management of Fitness for Work cases
Conducting simple hazard and incident investigations
Coordinate the workstation assessment process
Responsible for coordinating the recruitment of the WHS volunteer roles
Coordination and promotion of well-being activities across the department
General administration support to the WHS committee
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for this role, you will display the following;
Demonstrated experience in managing worker's compensation claims and Fitness for Work cases
Practical understanding and knowledge of the OSH and Workers Compensation and Injury Management legislation
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong organisation skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
