About our Team:
The Workplace Relations team is dedicated to cultivating a positive, unified, and productive work environment. Working closely with the broader People and Culture team, our primary focus is on managing and fostering relationships between the hospital and its employees, understanding the unique needs and challenges faced by healthcare professionals and support staff.
We work closely with leaders across CAHS to provide advice, consultancy services and representation on workplace and industrial relations matters, in alignment with the Department of Health, including organisational change, Workplace Relations, workforce management, and dispute resolution matters.

Position Profile and Role:
We are seeking an individual with exposure and some knowledge of IR, eager to develop their skills and contribute to our collaborative work environment to join our team as a Workplace Relations Consultant. This is a new role and an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience in Industrial Relations (IR).
Your responsibilities in this role will include:
- Providing advice on the correct application and interpretation of WA health system industrial agreements, employment legislation, regulations, and industrial relations policies.
- Maintaining records, reporting, and contributing to system manager reporting.
- Answering industrial queries and initiating queries to understand ongoing matters.
- Provide specialist support to human resources team members on Workplace Relations matters.
- Providing training to line managers on changes to industrial agreements.
- Presenting data and information for decision-making, including agreement provisions, feedback, and suggested changes.
- Maintaining awareness of Workplace Relations risks across CAHS and the WA Health sector to initiate early interventions and improve dispute management.
You also will have opportunity to work on compliance related projects and change management initiatives in a supportive learning environment. Through these activities you will develop knowledge of significant agreements, compliance and strategic initiatives.
