About the Role
We are looking for a qualified heavy diesel technician to fill the role of Workshop Supervisor in our Cummins Ag Shop.
Applicants will need to have strong leadership skills and management experience to manage day to day operations of an established local garage entering a new direction under new management.
Typical Workshop Supervisor duties include managing workshop workload, assigning jobs to technicians, over the phone diagnostics for job scheduling and managing invoices with the service administrator and supervising experienced and capable spare parts to ensure they are following operational procedures within their role.
Previous experience in a management position will be highly regarded.
You will employ a key account approach with existing critical customers as well as attract new business opportunities for the growth of the business.
Experience with busy truck workshop and agricultural machinery is desirable.
The successful applicantSuccess in this role will require a hands-on approach as you familiarise yourself with the technical and operational aspects of our business.
You will have a mechanical trade background with heavy vehicles and/or agricultural machinery. Previous experience running a small specialised workshop would be ideal, as would some exposure to sales in the areas of replacement parts or specialist heavy vehicle servicing.
You will have strong leadership skills and be capable of managing a team of up to 20.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day operations of the branch and encourage the existing team to continue the excellent reputation of the business that has been established.
Required attributes, skills and experience- Hands-on mechanical background
- Understanding of heavy vehicles and/or agricultural machinery
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work without constant supervision
- Able to communicate effectively with customers and workshop team
- Intermediate level computer skills with exposure to MS Office
- Drivers licence with a clean driving record (HR licence desirable)
- Team leading experience
- Good financial acumen
- Technical sales capability
