Structural Workshop Supervisor

We are a Structural/Mechanical and Crane Hire business providing a full range of steel fabrication, procurement, project construction/maintenance solutions and crane hire to clients.

STRUCTURAL WORKSHOP SUPERVISOR

 to work in Whyalla branch.

With the arrival of our new automated steel processing machinery which has state of the art technology to produce fully processed steel members and plate ready for fabrication, we require an experienced Structural Steel Supervisor to oversee our Structural division.

Your duties will include, but not be limited to: 

• Work closely with the facility operations manager to co-ordinate the flow of structural steel through the workshop
• Manage projects and the activities of all trades people who are involved in all areas of our structural division and liaise with various internal stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor and effectively supervise the day-to-day activities of workshop personnel and ensure labour is used most effectively and efficiently.
• Assist with effective and accurate completion of workshop administration and record-keeping. 
• Ensure that all work is performed to a high standard to produce a high-quality product for the customer.
• Contributing to continuous improvement and optimization of systems, processes, and assets
• Ensure the dispatch of goods and services are achieved to the customer's timeline and expectations.
• Abide by Safety and Environmental guidelines, Australian standards, and contractual requirements.
• Flexible working roster, with the option of fly in fly out or drive in drive out upon negotiation.

Essential Criteria

• A trade qualification (Boilermaker qualified desirable)
• Experience within a fast-paced Structural Steel workshop.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience in a workshop environment. 
• Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to positively motivate others to achieve outcomes.
• Strong customer service focus.
• Ability to work under pressure. 
• High level of professionalism, honesty and integrity.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, reference checks, and drug & alcohol testing
• Must be permanent resident or Australian citizen.
• Certificate 10 – Welding supervisor
