Dunns Earthmoving is seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor to join our team on site with an immediate start. Reporting to the COO you will be working a FIFO roster (2:2) located at our base camp in the Cooper Basin. The Workshop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to day operations of the workshop, ensuring the efficient and safe execution of all tasks. This role involves supervising workshop staff, coordinating workflow, maintaining equipment, and enforcing safety standards. The Workshop Supervisor plays a key role in driving productivity, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop.
The Role includes but is not limited to:
- Supervising workshop staff, including assigning tasks, providing guidance and conducting performance evaluations.
- Coordinating workflow to ensure timely completion of projects, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and resource availability.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
- Oversee inventory maintenance of workshop supplies, equipment and tools, coordinating procurement and maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs with maintenance staff and external providers as required.
- Collaborate with other departments, to ensure seamless workflow and effective communication.
- Implement and monitor quality control measures to maintain high standards of service.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains, implementing solutions to optimize workflow and reduce waste.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to workshop staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Prepare reports on workshop performance, including productivity metrics, safety incidents and maintenance activities.
Desired skills and experience:
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a workshop.
- Strong technical skills, with knowledge of workshop equipment, tools and machinery
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Solid understanding of safety regulations and best practices, with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in computer applications, such as Microsoft Office and inventory management software (e.g. MEX).
Minimum pre-employment qualification requirements:
- Cert III in Automotive (Diesel Mechanic) or equivalent
- Pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screen
- Police clearance from within the last 3 months
- Valid HR/HC license
- Senior First Aid Certificate (Apply First Aid)
- White card
