The Perth Flying Squadron Yacht Club; established in 1897, located on the banks of the Swan River in Dalkeith, boasts a wealth of tradition in the fine sport of yachting. With more than 1,200 Members and fondly known as "the family friendly Club on the Swan", we are seeking a mature, friendly, task orientated, multi-tasking person to take on the role of Club Bosun.
Working in a friendly, family environment, Monday to Friday, the position will include all types of repairs and maintenance, as well as assisting Members and guests with boat related activities.
Working closely with the Harbour Master, the successful applicant will have a minimum of five years experience in a similar role. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, autonomous, and results driven. A MacGyver of the Marina world.
KEY DUTIES/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- To ensure all Members' boats are securely & safely moored with approved weights, chains & mooring lines;
- Environmental Management;
- Deal with Members and Member services;
- Maintain Club Fleet Boats;
- Liaise with all external contractors relating to the marina operations of the Club;
- Cost effective repairs and maintenance to all Club assets, such as jetties, pylons, boats, anodes, Club House, and all amenities;
- Experience in welding, carpentry, fibreglassing, outboard repairs, and sail boat repairs desirable;
- Knowledge & experience in seamanship, such as navigation marks and meanings, weather warnings, knots, safety equipment, and instrumentation desirable;
- Must have Recreational Skippers Ticket (RST) or higher;
- Must be computer literate with programs such as microsoft word, excel, and email;
- Experience in Employee health and safety;
- Knowledge in Marina Focus is advantageous;
- Maintain all Corporate Governance policies and procedures of the Club.
