In this job you will

Be responsible for the overall performance of the State including financial performance and operational efficiency of the depot(s). You will also direct and mentor your team while developing and maintaining professional relationships  across a diverse range of stakeholders nationally.

As a key ambassador of the DHL brand, you will actively seek new growth opportunities and promote the  brand with professionalism, and integrity of the business at all times.

  • Develop, lead and mentor an effective, high performing team and provide clear direction to all staff and contractors.
  • Continually seek to improve all employee roles, streamlining processes to ensure optimum efficiencies are achieved.
  • Ensure all team members have a clear understanding of the expectations and direction of the business.
  • Own responsibility for the service levels provided to our customers. 
  • Adhere to the requirements of the quality system including preventative actions to eliminate any recurrence of non-conformances or customer complaints.
  • Provide customers with capable administrative and customer service support.
  • Ensure safety is at the forefront in decision making across all aspects of operations.  
  • Support and embrace the implementation of new technologies to further enhance quality and service to our customers and boost operational activities.
  • Continuous improvement is at the forefront of day to day activities.
  • Evaluate potential business opportunities to ensure that future company growth is controlled, effectively managed, and resourced within company guidelines.
  • Ensure the state operates within agreed financial plans. 
  • Drive innovative change to improve efficiencies and cost effectiveness for the business.
  • Effective monitoring and management of the P&L, whilst driving innovative change to improve cost effectiveness, profitability and overall business functionality.
  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across all areas of the business internally and externally.

You have the following qualities and qualifications

  • Strong negotiation skills and competency in developing and monitoring KPIs to ensure the completion of business and personal objectives.
  • Previous experience developing and maintaining strong and effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Proven skills and experience in people leadership and an ability to develop a positive culture and high performing team.
  • Excellent commercial, interpersonal, and change management skills.
  • Proven planning, problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to work through complex issues and guide and/or coach others in the resolution of problems.
  • Highly developed communication and presentation skills with ability to negotiate at a senior management level in a continuous improvement environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, outcome focused and exceptional eye to detail.
  • Medium to high skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification are desirable.
