Youth And Young Adults Pastor

BACKGROUND
With the recent amalgamation of Church@thepeak and Christ Church Mortdale, our church is about to launch into an exciting new phase of ministry and mission in Peakhurst and Mortdale.
The combined parish has four congregations on two sites, with nearly 330 members. Our Peakhurst congregation meets at Peakhurst South Public School and was planted in 2008. This service has 200 members (120 adults + 80 children and youth). Our Mortdale congregations include an 8am traditional service (16 adults), and a 10am contemporary service (75 adults + 15 children and youth). Night Church has approximately 55 regular members ranging in age from 16 to 60.
We have a thriving Youth and Young adult ministry that is the fruit of an intentional discipleship strategy that we have been working on for the past five years. Both our youth group and Night Church service have flourished also as a result of the recent amalgamation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for a full-time assistant minister with the following responsibilities:

• Congregation leadership of Night Church
• Overseeing and implementing our Youth and Young Adult Discipleship Pathway
• Teaching Year 6 Scripture

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
This role will suit someone who has the following qualifications and skills:

• Theological training (Diploma or higher)
• Ability to plan, implement, and oversee strategies and programmes
• Ability to lead and oversee the spiritual formation of a congregation
• Ability to preach God’s word with clarity and conviction
• Ability to lead individuals and teams
• Ability to train others for ministry
• Ability to plan and write bible studies
• Ability to recruit others to disciple others
• Good organisational skills (plan, delegate, admin)
• Ability to work in and contribute to a team

• Has a passion for and experience in ministering to Youth and Young Adults
• A person with energy, enthusiasm, and creativity
• A willingness to learn and serve
• A willingness to invest time in building relationships with Youth and Young Adults (both non-Christian and Christian)
