The Position To work with young people and other service providers to develop and coordinate programs for participants and to develop a range of programs and services that meets the aims of the Youth Cafe which are to create:
A safe accessible place for young people.
A place to foster youth culture, access to the arts and entertainment.
A place to build resilience in young people.
The Cafe project evolved from a direct request from local young people in Albury and Wodonga. The main aim of this unique service is to be inclusive of all young people 12 - 24 without targeting any particular group. AlburyCity's Youth Team aims to nurture and foster the social and cultural development of young people through music, events, activities, workshops, support groups and links with other Council and community services.
Working 35 hours per week with a fortnightly RDO

Qualifications in Youth Work, Community Services or related discipline or equivalent relevant work experience.
Current First Aid Certificate (compulsory to have and maintain)
Class C (standard) Driver's Licence (compulsory to have and maintain)
Demonstrated experience liaising and networking with local agencies
Demonstrated experience working with young people
Tasks & responsibilities
Promote the Youth Cafe and programs to diverse young people through schools, and Youth Services and the broader community.
Establish and provide a range of youth focused programs from the Cafe and at other community locations that meet the needs of diverse young people within the community.
Undertake all procedures that relate to the operations of Retro Lane Café and Youth programs.
Attend relevant youth related meetings and network with service providers.
Seek out funding opportunities to implement ongoing youth programs and events.
Hours Based on a 35 hour week, with actual days and times being Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm, with an RDO in accordance with AlburyCity's RDO guidelines.
