ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team in a challenging but rewarding role as a Youth Support Officer.
The Youth Justice Services Branch is responsible for the safety, security and rehabilitation of young people both in the community and custody. Youth Justice Services’ core objective is to reduce reoffending among young people through programs and services for young people on orders in the community and programs and services in custody; services to divert young people away from the criminal justice system.
The Youth Support Officer provides a positive adult role model to clients in the justice system to encourage them to develop life skills necessary to lead a law-abiding lifestyle. Under the direction of a Youth Justice Officer, the position supports the client and family to achieve desired outcomes identified in the case management plan.

Pool Recruitment
This pool will be open for a period of twelve months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent, full time and part time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.
The Department of Justice uses recruitment pools to build a bank of talent for future opportunities. Applicants found suitable in this pool, may be considered for subsequent, similar vacancies at similar locations, with the Department of Justice for the duration of the pool.

ELIGIBILITY
All employees are required to undergo employment screening, which includes a National Criminal History Check and other checks that may be relevant to the position requirements.
In accordance with the National Child Safety Principles, people who work directly with children and young people, you must have a current Working with Children Check or be able to successfully apply for one to be eligible for appointment to this position.
Applicants must possess a valid C Class Drivers Licence.
