About the role:
This position relates to Section 50(d) of the Equal Employment Opportunity Act 1984 (WA), where Aboriginality is considered a genuine occupational qualification for this position.
In this role you will deliver effective Community Engagement with Aboriginal communities, customers, and stakeholders to support a large range of infrastructure projects within the Aboriginal Communities Water Services (ACWS) program.
We are looking to create a pool of suitable applicants to fill immediate and future vacancies for similar opportunities. We currently have one fixed term opportunity available for a period of six months with possibility of extension or permanency.
What the role will involve:
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective communication and Community Engagement strategies to support the delivery of the Aboriginal Communities Water Services program.
- Undertake situation analysis in planning for and delivering successful Community Engagement strategies, activities, and materials.
- Engage with Aboriginal communities and Traditional Owner groups as key stakeholders to inform our strategic development and management.
- Plan, coordinate, and lead events including the associated logistics, internal and external stakeholder management.
- Provide ongoing support on projects where Aboriginal engagement forms part of the key deliverables.
Key skills and experience:

- Substantial experience in Aboriginal Community Engagement, stakeholder and issues management.
- Considerable experience in developing communication and Community Engagement strategies.
- Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated organisational and project management skills.
- Ability to travel to remote and regional areas often.
- Tertiary level qualification in related discipline.
- Current unrestricted WA Drivers Licence.
