Position Profile: We are currently seeking to appoint an Aboriginal Liaison Officer.
Provide a liaison service between Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islanders (TSI) clients presenting to KHC and WA Country Health Service (WACHS) Pilbara staff. To provide direct welfare and health services to Aboriginal/Torres Strait Island patients and their families. To help empower their independence in their own health care and to liaise with other government and non-government services and Aboriginal/TSI communities on issues relating to Aboriginal/TSI health and welfare.
Area Profile: The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is the largest country health system in Australia and one of the biggest in the world, providing health services to approximately half a million people, including 45,000 Aboriginal people, over a vast two and a half million square kilometre area. The organisation comprises seven regions, with a strong network of public hospitals, health services and health centres located across rural and remote Western Australia.
