JOB SUMMARY
To promote and maximise revenue for The Westin Melbourne. Seek new sales opportunities from corporate accounts, Travel Management Companies (TMC’s) and Retail Travel Agents in the Australian market. Provide the direct communication link and prompt response time between clients and internal departments at the hotel. The Account Director will be required to conduct their duties in a courteous, safe and efficient manner, in accordance with the hotel’s policies and procedures, ensuring that a high level of service is maintained.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED; 2 years experience in the sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related professional area.
- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; no work experience required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a sales tactical plan for corporate accounts, Travel Management Companies (TMC’s) and Retail Travel Agents in the Australian market.
- Seek and develop new business opportunities, through external sales calls, proposals, telesales, invitations, familiarisations, specific site inspections and other appropriate methods.
- Ensure all corporate RFP’s are responded to in a timely and accurate manner reflecting the rate strategy of the Westin Melbourne.
- Ensure best practice in use of MI CI/TY to track opportunities, quotes and generate e-proposals.
- Deliver hotel update presentations to clients.
- Prepare and submit a standard weekly and monthly quote activity report and call report to facilitate weekly Group Pace meetings and Sales Strategy Meetings
- Represent The Westin Melbourne at trade shows, functions and events as required.
- Undertake specific projects as directed by Director of Sales and Distribution and General Manager.
- Maximise utilisation of the MI Global Sales Offices
- Participate in training activity as required.
- Uphold the Westin Service culture by demonstrating the Core Value at all times to guests and fellow associates
- Personally ensure compliance with all relevant Workplace Health & Safety and Occupational Health & Safety legislation, and related The Westin Melbourne and Marriott International Policies.
- Anticipate guest’s needs through observation and offer prompt, efficient service either personally or through effective communication with other associates.
- Align working practices and conduct with The Westin Melbourne’s Vision; consistently strive to meet and exceed the expectations of both internal and external guests.
- To work as and where directed by management.
- Deliver enthusiastic, positive, helpful and respectful client communication, ensuring precise and effective information transfer with the use of MI e-proposals.
- Address client queries within 6-24 hours of initial contact
- Ensure recovery calls are dealt with in an appropriate manner
- Identify sales leads from daily newspapers, trade magazines and network at events
- Report all competitor activity, industry intelligence and market trends that may impact on The Westin Melbourne are reported and handled in the appropriate manner.
