Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) is the national body representing over 15,000 members in the speech pathology profession. SPA supports and regulates the ethical, clinical and professional standards of its members as well as lobbying and advocating on behalf of all Australians living with communication and swallowing difficulties.
Speech Pathology Australia presents an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual looking for an opportunity to commence their administration career.The position is Melbourne office based with work from home opportunities. This role is expected to be for a minimum 9 months term with possible opportunity for extension.
Key responsibilities
- Acting as the first point of contact for members, prospective members, and the public, taking enquiries via multiple communication channels whilst providing a high level of customer service
- Maintenance of the iMIS database and processing of all membership and overseas qualification applications
- Provide input and recommendations to the Membership Manager in regard to member services efficiency, effectiveness and innovation
- Respond to member calls and emails in a timely manner.
- Assess and process all membership enquiries, applications, and renewals including outbound follow up and welcome calls as required
- Update member applications when required and ensure data accuracy and consistency
- Monitor and maintain membership mailbox and advise Senior Membership Officer of potential workflow issues
- Assist Professional Practice Advisors with membership enquiries
- Partake in membership engagement strategies and projects
- General administrative duties as required
- Provide support to National Office business units as delegated by Manager Member Services
To be suitable for this position you require:
Essential:
- Minimum of 3 years’ office experience
- Competent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- Strong organisational skills
- Experience in telephone systems and professional telephone etiquette
- Strong customer focus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and orientation to effective teamwork
- Self-initiative and problem solving skills
- High attention to detail
- Effective time management
Desirable:
- Qualified in administration related courses
- Experience in iMIS database searches and data entry
- Experience in CRM software
- Orientation to working in a not-for-profit organisation
