Job Description:
As an Accountant at the Azabu Group, you will play a crucial role in the financial operations of the company. This role involves managing a full spectrum of financial processes, including preparing and analysing financial reports, completing tax filings, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations.
• Perform reconciliations of bank statements, expenses, and payroll entries to maintain accurate financial records.
• Conduct routine and ad-hoc financial analysis to support budgeting and forecasting efforts.
• Coordinate with internal departments to collect information and resolve issues related to financial processes.
• Manage the preparation and submission of tax returns and other necessary government documents.
• Monitor accounting databases and software to ensure that information is up to date and accurate.
• Implement and monitor internal financial controls to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal regulatory and company policies and procedures.
• Mentor and assist in training junior staff in the finance department.
• Participate in annual audits, providing all required information to external auditors.
• Stay informed of industry trends and changes in regulations to help the finance department make sound planning decisions.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance..
• Professional accounting certification, such as CPA or CPA.
• At least 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
• High proficiency in MS Office and finance software (e.g., Xero).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
