The Boston Group is a medium sized group of companies operating in funds investment, finance arenas and the back-office support services. An opportunity has become available for an Accountant.
In this role, you will support the accountant and general manager in various areas in accordance with the company’s terms of business. You will also ensure that the financial records of the business meet the highest levels of accuracy and integrity.
Key Responsibility Areas:
- Bank reconciliation and General ledger reconciliations
- Matching, batching, coding, reconciling and processing invoices.
- Processing payroll and other payables for companies when required.
- Correspondence to Clients via email and phone and maintain accounts receivable ledger.
- Maintaining a thorough understanding of the Accounts Receivable and Payable processes and procedures.
- Reporting monthly management accounts for all companies managed.
- Preparing monthly, quarterly and half-yearly reconciliations and schedules for month end processing.
- Assisting in preparing PAYG, BAS and consolidated activity statement for all accounts required.
- Supporting General Manager and senior accountant with cash flow and reporting information.
- Adhoc duties or projects instructed by managers.
Qualifications and Attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Economics.
- General Accounting experience ideal, but not essential.
- Intermediate/Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint & Word.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- A positive 'can-do' attitude.
- Sound organizational and time management skills.
- Approachability in dealing with internal and external parties.
