Due to growth, Montefiore is seeking to appoint an Accountant to join the Finance Department. This is an essential position within the team, and as such we are seeking a commercially minded professional with hands-on accounting experience. This role offers a wide scope of exposure to varied accounting and finance tasks and duties.

Working in a small team and reporting to the Finance Manager who has over 10 years’ experience in the aged care industry, the key to success in this position will be your excellent knowledge of accounting principles and practice, with hands-on ability to quickly and effectively take on responsibility for a variety of daily, weekly, monthly, and annual duties. Your willingness and ability to directly support the Finance Manager and the Director of Finance & Risk, diligence in meeting deadlines, compliance with procedures and policies, your close attention to detail and your effective communication skills are essential attributes. You will be responsive to the needs of a wide range of business units and have a service orientated, helpful and friendly but professional approach.

Some accountabilities would include, but are not limited to:

• Banking, Cashflow and cashflow forecasting
• Monthly Financial Accounts
• Budgets
• Department of Health and Aged Care quarterly and annual financial reporting
• Annual accounts and audit preparation
• Involvement in the transition of our accounting systems from AX2012 to Microsoft D365 Business Central

Essential Criteria:

• Bachelor of Commerce (with CA or CPA qualifications preferable)
• A minimum of 5 years’ similar experience working in hands on accounting roles
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and reliably
• Advanced computer skills with the ability to pick up new systems efficiently and effectively
• Excel – advanced skill level would be desirable
• An open and agile mindset

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience in residential aged care, independent living and home care
• Availability to start as soon as possible will be an advantage

In conjunction with the essential criteria, you enjoy being hands-on, have a strong work ethic and work well within a small team. You will have a genuine desire and passion for working within the aged care sector especially one that is a not-for profit that has an absolute commitment to its consumers and staff.
