The Role
We currently have an opportunity to join our Financial Control team as an Accountant.
The role will have a focus on Insurance, Corporate Accounting and Tax Compliance. Financial Control is responsible for the integrity of financial data, ensuring Financial Control policies and standards are adopted. The team is responsible for getting the accounting numbers right in both our statutory reporting and management reporting.
Working with other team members, you will assist in initiatives to improve how insurance transactions are understood, and development of processes to strengthen the financial reporting control environment. There will also be month-end responsibilities including preparing journals, and ensuring our balance sheet is appropriately reconciled.
This role will see you working closely with the Actuarial Services teams, External Reporting and other stakeholders in providing insight and analysis of the numbers.
About you
To be successful in this role you will be an individual who has a high attention to detail, a resilient mindset and the ability to problem solve. You will also have:
- CA/CPA qualified or working towards a qualification.
- Previous Accounting experience
- Demonstrated experience using Excel and/or Oracle is highly regarded.
- Strong problem solving and information analysis skills.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
