The Casino Food Co-op is a leading export food processor with production facilities at Casino and Booyong, near Lismore, in the Northern Rivers area of the NSW Far North Coast.
The Co-op is seeking a skilled Accountant to join our Finance Team on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for a broad range of accounting duties.
The finance team manages all accounting tasks and reporting for all six main divisions of the company. Upon successful engagement, you will be exposed to all areas of the business and will be strongly encouraged to provide technical support and advice in both a structured and ad hoc basis.
The main duties and responsibilities of this role will include:
- Preparation and analysis of weekly divisional P&Ls.
- Reconciliation of balance sheet general ledger accounts.
- Maintain the fixed asset register.
- Provide financial support to internal stakeholders.
- Assist in foreign currency transactions.
- Assist accounts payable and receivables functions.
- Assist in liaison with external auditors where necessary.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or Business (or working towards).
- CPA/CA qualifications (or working towards) are desirable.
- Proven experience in accounting.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial and non-financial data.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in using various accounting and/or ERP systems.
- High level organisational and planning skills.
- A keen interest in manufacturing and commercial accounting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
