Australian Wildflowers Pty Ltd (AWPL) is a leading native cut-flower producer based in Western Victoria and Eastern South Australia. Operating over a number of sites, AWPL continues to innovate and grow through the integration of a number of projects operated through its Research and Development division.
AWPL is currently seeking a suitable applicant to lead the financial management of the Research and Development division. This role will not only oversee the daily accounting needs of the Research and Development division but will also seek to actively grow the business through sound economic investigative practise to inform sustained innovation.
The responsibilities of the role include:
- maintenance of all accounts in relation to Research and Development and the identification, introduction and maintenance of appropriate accounting software and systems
- development and implementation of budgetary and accounting policies in liason with the company's head accountant.
- maintenance of internal control systems
- appraisal of cash flow and financial risk in relation to the development of Research and Development projects
- development of short and long-term budgets
- provision of monthly reporting to the lead accountant and board
- Completion of annual Research and Development report including regulatory requirements
- Completing investigative analyses of new Research and Development proposals to inform development of same
- liason with appropriate representatives of financial institutions in relation to Research and Development projects and related aspects of the company as required
- examining operational costs in relation to Research and Development and their relationship to the overall taxation implications for the company as a whole
- provision of direction through long term investigations against the outcomes of Research and Development projects in relation to both Profitability and Balance Sheet positions.
