Accountant

Our client is recruiting a newly created role for an Accountant. In this hybrid working position you will be instrumental for managing the accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, and adherence to accounting standards and regulations. This role includes collaboration with the CEO/CFO to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the organization's objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a primary liaison between the organization, participants, and stakeholders concerning financial and accounting information.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage daily accounting operations, business controls, and procedures, including but not limited to accounts payable, receivable, and payroll.
• Ensure compliance with all financial transactions according to ATO regulations and corporate standards.
• Handle month-end closing processes and prepare financial statements such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Perform detailed reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments to accurately reflect the financial status.
• Oversee the timely submission of Business Activity Statements (BAS) and management of payroll taxes and superannuation obligations.
• Advocate for and implement efficient resource allocation and usage practices.
• Uphold strict accounting and security controls in line with organizational procedures and financial policies.
• Work closely with the CFO and Finance Manager to craft and apply financial strategies.
• Supply regular reports and analyses to support strategic decision-making.

Your Profile:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
• A bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Certification as a CPA or CA (or working towards)
• Demonstrated experience in financial management
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
• Experience with transactional accounting, including invoicing in a complex environment
• Exceptional organizational and leadership abilities.
• Knowledge of internal controls and compliance frameworks.
• Experience with various accounting software and financial systems.
