Our client is a leading electrical, communications and building services provider to the construction, civil and mining industries.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Accountant who will be responsible for ensuring the completion of accurate accounting processes and financial reporting. This role will report directly to the Financial Officer and is required to communicate clearly with all internal and external stakeholders.
Duties:
- Provide forecast cash flow analysis to management
- Conduct audits of project invoices and subcontract payments to review
- Provide feedback on project audits
- Oversee subcontract financial management including budget and letting performance
- Monitor variation management in line with Project Managers and contract administrators
- Oversee project reporting
- Liaise with managers to update forecast in forecasting software
- Assist project teams with complex transactions to ensure appropriate treatment of tax, GST and compliance
- Oversee ad-hoc project accounting issues and provide assistance to team
- Prepare monthly financial reporting process for entities
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial reporting
- Ensure all financial activities are complete in accordance with corporate government guidelines
- Asist with coordinating or preparing corporate governance requirements
- Prepare BAS statements, quarterly and annual taxation returns
- Participate in internal and external audit processes
- Current C class Drivers Licence
- Tertiary Qualifications in Accounting, Business, Finance
- CPA/ CA qualifications are preferred
- Minimum 5 years Australian level experience in an accounting role
- Advanced Microsoft Office Skills
- Strong knowledge of of the Australian Accounting Standards
- High attention to detail and strong communication skills
