The Y Canberra Region has been part of the Canberra community since 1941, growing alongside our families, youth and community. Over the years, our programs and services have diversified into what we offer today, ranging from health and wellbeing to youth, accommodation and children services.
The Role
This position is primarily responsible for:
• Prepare monthly financial statements and other finance reports
• Prepare reconciliations including bank, balance sheet and system reconciliations
• Liaise with team members preparing monthly journals (accruals and adjusting)
• Assist in development and maintenance of policies/ guidelines/ templates and other governance documents
• Assist in implementing system change and other business improvement activities
• Assist as required in developing procurement advice, guidance and capability across the organisation
• Provide back up and support to the accounts payable, payroll and receivable functions
• Other tasks as directed
Qualifications and Experience
• Qualifications in Accounting or any other related discipline.
• CPA/CA (preferred but not essential).
• Proven success in other financial accounting and/or finance roles, experience processing Accounts payable, payroll and accounts receivable would be an advantage.
• Excellent attention to details, wiliness to learn, team player, communication skills
• Ability to learn quickly, process journals, reconcile accounts, provide suggestions for process, procedure and/or system improvement.
