This role is with a boutique bookkeeping firm that provides end to end accounting services for a number of hospitality businesses. We are looking for another long-term team member to join a small, dedicated team.
In summary you will play an integral role within the team, providing effective and efficient book-keeping, namely; Processing of accounts payable & receivable; Bank reconciliations; complete the day-to-day transactional activities and payroll processing.
There will be a minimum of 24 hours of work required on a weekly basis, with Mondays and Tuesdays being key days of the week for processing - particularly payroll. There is flexibility for each individual days to be shorter, for example 9am - 3pm, or longer for example, 8am - 5pm as suits your individual needs.
Our office space is unique, and contained within a heritage building - there is plenty of parking, and the train station is next door. There are also discounts on food - and that all important beverage - coffee!
Specifically, this role contains the following detailed duties;
Accounts Receivable
- Sales Orders, Invoicing, Payments & Statements.
- Reconciliation of customer accounts.
- Insurance Receivables
- Workers Compensation
Accounts Payable
- Invoice Processing, Payments & Reconciliation of Vendor Statements.
- Maintain Rent Roll
- Statement review
Payroll
- New staff additions
- Fortnightly adjustments and processing
General Accounting & Finance
- Bank Reconciliations
- Month-end
- Accruals and Prepayment Journals
- Assisting with Balance Sheet reconciliations
Gift Card Accounting
- Monthly reconciliation of Gift Card Fund account
- Recharge/Refund for sales and redemptions.
Fixed Assets for the Group
- Maintain Asset Register
- Acquire & Retire
We believe to succeed you will need the following;
- Bookkeeping Certificate IV is desirable but not essential.
- 3 years or more experience in a similar role is ideal.
- Proven attention to detail in processing high volume of data with demonstrated thoroughness of work standards.
- Proven ability to work autonomously, using initiative and taking responsibility in completing tasks.
- Solid knowledge of Excel and overall good experience with the Microsoft Office suite, particularly within the O365 environment.
- Strong administrative and time management skills as you will be working on multiple projects at one time.
