This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable specialist or Finance Officer to join a sought after business in a long term permanent role.
The Responsibilities
The Finance Officer is accountable for the preparation and payment of accounts and claims that result in the efficient and effective payment for goods and services received. The Finance Officer will be required to analyse vendor accounts, investigate and resolve discrepancies. The Finance Officer is responsible for processing and payment of invoices, reconciliation of vendor accounts, reporting of invoices received, follow up and clearing of long outstanding items.
In addition this role will be responsible for:
- Regular review and processing of foreign currency invoices and related accounting transactions
- Scheduling spot and hedge payment requests in respect of foreign currency invoices, ensuring adherence to scheduled payment dates
- Review of vendor age analysis, parked report and GR/IR account, including follow up and resolution of long outstanding items
- Conduct regular reviews of policies and procedures, suggest improvement opportunities to current procedures and systems and continually review and update the process of account payments to ensure that it meets Audit requirements with maximum efficiency
- Provide KPI reports and various reporting tools to support the Business Strategy
- Post journals in SAP
- Perform regular reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies or outstanding balances
The successful candidate is ideally an experienced, confident, and motivated Finance Officer, bringing a strong background across full function Accounts Payable or similar Finance Officer roles in a complex business environment. Experience working with journals and GL is required, and any basic knowledge of FX is also beneficial.
Strong communication & problem solving skills are essential in this position, as is an improvement focused mindset. Experience with large ERP systems is highly sought after, as is a track record of managing tricky stakeholders/situations, and working autonomously whilst also part of a team.
