Our client is a membership / sporting entity on Brisbane southside and are looking for a Accounts and Payroll Officer. This role will work in a team of (2) with a great manager and between you look after day to day accounting and bookkeeping. Job Summary:
As an Accounts and Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for managing weekly payroll, performing daily cash counts, POS reconciliations, and assisting with data entry for accounts payable and receivable. You will also handle general administration tasks and membership administration.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Duties:
- Create and process weekly payruns, ensuring accurate staff hours entry and compliance with entitlements.
- Resolve payroll-related issues and provide support with timesheets and payslips.
- Prepare new employee contracts, manage new start packs, and maintain employee files.
- Update payroll cheat sheets and ensure all employee records are current.
- Issue variation letters and adhere to all payroll policies and procedures.
- Perform ad hoc duties and generate reports as directed by the Finance Manager.
Accounts Duties:
- Conduct daily till cash counts and POS reconciliations, addressing discrepancies.
- Manage accounts payable, track and enter invoices, and maintain filing systems.
- Assist with collecting documents for annual audits.
- Adhere to all financial policies and procedures.
- Perform ad hoc duties and generate reports as directed by the Finance Manager.
Membership Administration Duties:
- Assist new and existing members with inquiries and payments.
- Manage membership FOB tags and create new member information packs.
- Assist with annual membership subscription renewals and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Perform ad hoc duties and generate reports as directed by the CEO and Finance Manager.
Key Relationships:
- Internal: Collaborate with the Finance Team and other co-workers, adhering to policies and procedures.
- External: Interact professionally with members, suppliers, and contractors, ensuring a pleasant experience.

Preferred Criteria:
- Previous experience in hospitality/member services is desirable.
- Accounting or bookkeeping experience is highly preferred, with a Certificate or Diploma in Accounting.
- Valid driver’s license and private transport.
