The Illawarra Aboriginal Medical Service is seeking an experienced Accounts Payroll Officer to join our diverse team of professionals delivering quality health care to the local Indigenous community. 

About the Service 

Located in Wollongong, the Illawarra Aboriginal Medical Service is a dynamic Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service delivering culturally appropriate patient-centred care to the local Aboriginal Community.  

About the Role 

1. End to end payroll;
2. Reconciliation of payroll reports and leave entitlements;
3. Reconciliation of accounts
4. Processing Salary Sacrificing arrangements, PAYG and superannuation payments;
5. Award and EBA Interpretation;
6. Ensure payroll compliance
7. Accounts Payable
8. Accounts Receivable

Essential Criteria 

• Experience in an Accounts Payroll Officer role (See above 8 points about the role)
• Experience in Medical Sector and understanding of relevant awards
• Knowledge of accounting system Xero (desired but not essential)
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times
• Strong time management and organisational skills with the ability to work independently.
• Working With Children Check
• Ability to provide culturally appropriate care with knowledge of the health issues faced by the local Indigenous community.
