Accounts Receivable Officer/Assistant Accountant

about the companyThe company is a famous Adelaide brand with seafood farming and manufacturing operations. They are very financially profitable and many of their customers are international as well as in Australia. The working location is towards the North-west of Adelaide, not too far from the CBD.about the jobIn this role you will have to deal with local and also overseas customers in different time zones. There would be big volume and complicated auction accounts. In addition, you would be the pack-up for payroll, as well as minor accounting duties. There will be planned career progression and development opportunities in future to move from AR to more accounting responsibilities. You will have to process daily invoicing 4 days a week, with another day focusing on minor accounting duties. You do not need to process invoices on National PH but you will still have to work during state PH; as such the company will compensate with day off-in-lieu/salary. You will have to support end-to-end payroll once a quarter and occasionally if the payroll officer is sick/on-leave. Timesheets are digital but there are multiple modern awards (marine/food processing/clerks private sector).about the manager / teamThis role reports to the Finance Manager with a team of 6 in finance. The culture is extremely conducive and collaborative, and WFH and flexibility is possible once you have picked up the ropes into the job.skills & requirements for the jobYou should possess a Bachelor’s Degree with a planned career in Accounting. Industry experience in manufacturing or farming is desirable. The ideal candidate has good communication skills as this is considered a customer-facing role.
