A permanent, full-time opportunity is now available for an Assistant Accountant to join their team.
The Role:
As an integral part of the Finance team, the Assistant Accountant position is responsible for delivering a range of accounting and administrative support services.
Reporting through to the Finance Manager your duties will include:
- Performing end-to-end accounts payable ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments, accounts and expense reports
- Providing an accurate and timely accounts receivable service, ensuring income is invoiced and received in a timely manner
- Performing weekly bank reconciliations
- Preparation of month end journals including payroll, employee provisions, motor vehicle, prepayments and other journals as required
- Maintenance of the fixed asset register
- Providing ad hoc admin and finance support, including, booking of travel and accommodation, employee reimbursements and petty cash maintenance
- Providing back up support to the Payroll Officer and Accountant when required
- Assisting with the year-end annual audit
- A minimum of 3 years’ of accounts or finance experience
- Diploma or degree in accounting or finance is desirable as well as a basic understanding of accounting principles and standards
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience using mid-tier or larger ERP systems (Nunkuwarrin uses Sage Intacct)
