Accounts/Payroll Officer

Matera Electrical Services is currently seeking an Accounts/Payroll Officer to provide effective, timely and accurate support and administration services in the day to day running of the business. 

About the Company:

Matera Electrical Services is an Indigenous owned and operated electrical contracting and maintenance company with ongoing Oil & Gas Electrical Maintenance work and Electrical Contracting work in the construction industry both in the metropolitan and regional Western Australia.

The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and energetic individual with a keen eye for detail to join our team. A key objective of this role is to ensure accurate and efficient data entry, maintenance of employee records, and support processing activities. As the Accounts/Payroll Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting our Company Accountant in ensuring timely and accurate accounts and payroll processing.

 The main responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

• Admin support for Accountant
• Maintaining all records accurately and in a timely manner
• Accounts Payable duties 
• Account Receivable duties 
• Assist with weekly payroll processing 
• Processing of supplier and subcontractor invoices ensuring accurate matching against purchase orders and progress claims
• On-going update and maintenance of payroll system including reports
• Ensuring compliance will all payroll legislation and award regulations
• Managing PPE ordering & receiving process
• End of month reconciliations 
• Liaising with stakeholders both internally and externally to maintain good relationships
• Document management – Filing manually/electronically
• Other administrative duties as directed

Skills and experience:

The successful applicant should have the following attributes:

• High level of computer literacy (Excel, Word, Outlook) embraces new technology systems and application
• 2+ years' experience in an Accounts/Payroll role
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, flexibly, and cooperatively as part of a team
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Strong organisation skills and attention to detail
