People Development Unit (PDU) is a Registered Training Organisation.
About the Role
The Administration Assistant, PDU, is located within the People Development Unit and will provide administration support to the RTO and WDSU teams. This position reports to the RTO Systems Manager.
The role of the Administration Assistant is and not limited to:
- Provide a comprehensive administrative and clerical role to the RTO.
- Support Workforce Development Support Unit (WDSU) as required.
- Maintain effective mechanisms for the purpose of reporting, including managing AVETMISS data reporting, liaison with Abstudy for enrolled students (including organising travel and accommodation).
- Assist the RTO to maintain a high level of compliance with regulatory body Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).
- Provide accurate information as reception support and as a first point of contact with prospective and current students of Nunkuwarrin Yunti.
- Ensure a high level of service, including data collection, records management and timely information to students.
- Work in a positive manner as a team member of the PDU.
- Contribute to maintaining the office in a tidy and well-presented standard.
Remuneration
This position is under the Nunkuwarrin Yunti Enterprise Agreement classification of Corporate Services Level 3 (Salary sacrifice and paid Christmas and New Year break)

ESSENTIAL – includes qualifications, skills, experience and knowledge.
- Completion of Year 11 secondary schooling plus extensive post school administrative/clerical experience.
- An intermediate level of computer competence including skilled in the use of Microsoft Office software especially Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Microsoft Forms, the internet and email systems.
- Experience maintaining databases and spreadsheets.
- Knowledge of a wide range of office business equipment including photocopiers and scanners
- Ability to use tact and discretion and work respectfully with Aboriginal people and the wider community, including community and government organisations.
- Experience providing a professional customer service.
- Ability to demonstrate well developed organisational skills, including the ability to seek support when required.
- Ability to use initiative and apply a high attention to detail to ensure accuracy in providing clerical and administrative services.
- Willingness to work as part of a team.
- Initiative to learn and develop administrative skills within a digital context.
DESIRABLE
- Demonstrated experience of working in a RTO setting.
- Knowledge of student management systems such as VETtrak and how to maintain relevant information for students of Nunkuwarrin Yunti.
- Knowledge of student learning systems such as Cloud Assess.
- Understanding of Standards for RTO’s (2015) and experience with RTO auditing processes.
