Overview
Working as a member of the friendly and professional team at Penola War Memorial Hospital, you will carry out a range of responsive quality customer services and provide support to administration staff as required. Providing a friendly, courteous and professional first point of contact, you will respond to telephone calls and counter presentations by patients, visitors and staff. You will respond to routine patient enquiries in consultation with nursing, medical and clerical staff to ensure appropriate information is conveyed or enquiries are suitably redirected. As part of your role, you will help to manage and maintain general and medical records. This will include maintaining patient records, generating patient identification labels, and filing documents for the Medical Records Department. You will act as a resource and provide general assistance to clinical staff, visitors and patients regarding hospital services, booking transport and booking outpatient appointments.
You will have prior experience in a clerical/reception role within a hospital environment, using hospital computing systems and database applications. You will be capable of determining priorities, organising workloads and meeting deadlines. A team player with a flexible approach, you must have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a wide range of clients, members of the community, health service staff and staff from other agencies. Your excellent customer service skills will equip you to relate to people from different cultures, backgrounds and circumstances.
