ADMINISTRATION OFFICER
NORTH BALWYN UNITING CHURCH (NBUC)
POSITION OBJECTIVES
- To coordinate communications and publishing for the North Balwyn Uniting Church
- To assist the Minister and Pastoral Assistant with any funeral or wedding arrangements
- To liaise with current NBUC tenants and respond to any new enquiries re use of the Church Centre
- To assist with bookkeeping
SPECIFIC SKILLS
- Computer skills, including use of word processing, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office software (particularly Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
- Basic financial management skills, particularly in the use of MYOB, and on-line banking
- Strong communication skills
- The ability to self-manage the work-load and work with limited immediate direction
- Ability to relate to people from a diverse range of interests.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
There are no specific required qualifications, however membership of a Christian Church and an understanding of the Uniting Church beliefs are desirable.
WHAT WILL IT BE LIKE WORKING AT NBUC?
The position is a part-time position of up to 15 hours per week. Working times can be flexible to accommodate the needs of the employee, but it is strongly desired that the office is attended for some time on at least the Wednesdays and Fridays of each week.
North Balwyn Uniting Church is a small but deeply caring community that worships together on Sunday mornings at 10 am. We share our facilities with community groups, and music groups often hold concerts in our beautiful church building with its outstanding organ. The congregation is served by a full-time Minister and a part-time Pastoral Assistant. We are in North Balwyn, in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, close to Doncaster Rd and Balwyn Rd public transport options. The Minister, Pastoral Assistant, Organist and Members of the Church Council, Elders and Congregation work together as a team, which you are invited to join. We can offer some flexibility around working arrangements.
