About the Team
Bowen Hospital is a 27 Bed rural hospital servicing the town of Bowen and surrounding areas providing Inpatient acute care and sub-acute care: general outpatient services and 24 hr Accident and Emergency service. Other services provided at the Bowen Hospital include speech therapy, physiotherapy, community mental health, pharmacy and radiography. Whilst administrative services are located at Bowen Hospital, support services including Finance; Purchasing and Supply, Human Resources; Patient Safety, Quality Management, Occupational Health and Safety are located at Mackay Base Hospital with further support provided from Shared Services.
Mackay Hospital and Health Service has six hospitals, two multi-purpose health services and four community health centres that employ more than 3,700 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
