The primary objective of this role is to provide the Medical Director of the ICU at Blacktown with all secretarial, administrative and organisational assistance.
The role of the Intensive Care Unit at Blacktown is to provide an optimal level of clinical care to the highest acuity patients at Blacktown and Mt Druitt Hospitals. The majority of these patients are on life support systems. The ICU accepts patients from high end surgery, as well as Emergency Department transfers and those who have recently experienced, or are at very high risk of suffering, from a Medical Emergency Call. The Secretary will assist with Unit based billings of appropriate patients by the Intensivists, as well as distributing teaching material for staff at all medical levels within the ICU and audit, correspondence, databasing and standard rostering, per guidance from the Director.
