Autopia Tours is looking for young at heart, energetic driver/guides who can deliver exciting, informative, entertaining, and adventurous tours whilst providing an exceptional level of customer service.
About the role:
With guiding roles available ongoing (all year round), as a Tour Guide/Driver for Autopia based in Darwin you'll drive/guide small groups throughout Australia's amazing Top End, showcasing our rugged, tropical natural landscapes and World Heritage-Listed sites to travelers from all over the world.
Our tours range from one day to five days from our base in Darwin to places including Litchfield National Park, Kakadu National Park, Katherine and Nitmiluk National Park, Mary and Adelaide River Regions, and everything in between.
We also have a Tailor Made & Charters Division of the business which broadens the variety of work available, including anything from point-to-point bus transfers to extended multi-day intrastate and interstate charters.
The offer:
- Rates from $250 - $500 a day (depending on the tour) + Super
- Expected earnings are between $70,000 - $95,000 per year (depends how much work you want)
- Drive the sexiest buses and 4x4 trucks
- Stay at our own Safari Camps in Kakadu and Katherine during multi-day camping tours
- Ability to move around the country guiding (with Autopia Tours) with the seasons if you choose
- Full training provided
Ideally you would have (or be willing to obtain):
- Medium Rigid Driver's licence
- NT ‘H’ Endorsement (commercial vehicle passenger carrying endorsement. Note - this endorsement requires a SAFE NT Police Check and a ‘fitness to drive’ medical check. If you need to obtain the H endiorsement please book the Police Check and medical in advance as the lead time can be 2-6 weeks)
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Kakadu Knowledge for Tour Guides course completed through Charles Darwin University online or in person
- An excellent can-do attitude with a passion for delivering outstanding customer service

Training:
We provide a comprehensive guide training program. You will have the opportunity to gain experience in day tours and multi day tours so that you have a multitude of touring opportunities. We have plenty of touring options all year through.

Along with your CV/resume, please include a cover letter with some info about yourself and why you are applying for the role. This role is ideal for someone who wants to settle in Darwin for at least 1 year or more, or has been in the NT for a while. This allows a more immersive experience for the guide and the guest and a greater level of engagement with your surroundings through each season.
You'll be hand selected to work in our strong family atmosphere - short termers need not apply.
