Allied Health Assistant – Community Services

Part Time or Full Time – 80 hours per fortnight

Fixed Term – to commence 29th April 2024 until 25th August 2024

Classification: IN29 - Allied Health Assistant

Award:  Victorian Public Health Sector (Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Workers) Single Interest Enterprise Agreement 2021 – 2025

This is a great opportunity for a qualified Allied Health Assistant to join our Community Services team, assisting with community and acute based clients. In this fixed term position you will work in a varied role within the Allied Health team, alongside occupational therapists, physios and more. You will be joining a supportive and enthusiastic Allied Health Team working in a broad range of clinical settings. Experience preferable but not necessary. Training, support and supervision provided. Flexible days and working hours including part time options.  Students studying Allied Health professions are welcome to apply!

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential

• Allied Health qualification or equivalent, and/or experience.

Technical/Professional Knowledge and skills

• Well-developed verbal communication with other health professionals and clients
• Highly-developed written communication skills to ensure accurate case recording and statistics 4.
• Experience in working with a diverse range of people in the community
• The ability to implement engaging and client centred individual and group activities
• Demonstrated evidence of commitment to ongoing education and professional development to ensure working within current scope of practice
• Demonstrated commitment to staff development, continuing education and quality improvement

 Desirable

• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
• A commitment to providing an innovative, high quality service to MDHS clients
• A positive approach to teamwork and a willingness to undertake a broad range of clinical and non-clinical duties.
