We are looking for a qualified and experienced Ambulance Officer to join our emergency medical services team. The Ambulance Officer will be responsible for responding to emergency calls, providing advanced life support and patient care, and transporting patients to medical facilities. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work in high-stress situations, and a commitment to providing the best possible patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to emergency calls, providing advanced life support and patient care in a timely and professional manner.
- Assess patients’ conditions, administer medications, and perform procedures to stabilize and treat patients, in accordance with protocols and medical directives.
- Transport patients to medical facilities, communicating with hospital staff and providing ongoing patient care during transport.
- Maintain accurate records of patient care, including patient assessment, treatment provided, medications administered, and transport details.
- Operate and maintain ambulance and medical equipment, ensuring that all equipment is in good working order and properly stocked.
- Participate in training and continuing education programs, to maintain and update skills and knowledge.
- Work closely with other members of the healthcare team, including doctors, nurses, and paramedics, to provide coordinated and effective patient care.
Qualifications:
- Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic, in accordance with state and local regulations.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as an Ambulance Officer or Paramedic.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in high-stress situations.
- Excellent clinical skills, including the ability to assess and treat patients, and to perform advanced medical procedures.
- Knowledge of medical protocols and procedures, and ability to operate medical equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license, with a clean driving record.
