Animal Management and Local Laws Officer
ABOUT THE ROLE
Moira Shire Council requires a resourceful and efficient individual with excellent communication and customer skills to join its Safety and Amenity department as a Animal Management/Local Laws Officer. This position is for a set period of 2 years.
The successful applicant will be required to contribute through the provision of information, assistance and advice to the community, and through the enforcement of Acts, Regulations, and Local Laws. This includes undertaking enforcement and education of all matters relating to the Regulatory Services Unit, making sure to provide good order and safety within the community and performing the role of a parking officer.
Working across the Shire, the successful applicant will need to be able to effectively manage domestic animals, including dangerous dogs and feral cats.
ABOUT YOU
You will be someone who values integrity, and upholds a strong sense of ethical conduct. As someone who is responsible for enforcing Local Laws, your actions will be naturally guided by fairness, honesty and transparency.
You will have strong attention to detail, and investigative skills, whilst being comfortable in dealing with disputes, disagreement and you will handle conflict through finding common ground and resolve issues in a fair and impartial manner.
An effective Local Laws Officer whilst maintaining a level of empathy will be an assertive person, who can build solid relationships founded on mutual trust and respect.
If you have skills in managing time, planning and organising your own work, are able to achieve specific objectives and have high level customer service skills, you are encouraged to apply.

The successful applicant will be required to complete a pre-employment functional assessment, psychometric assessment, a National Police History Check prior to commencement.
