We are currently working in with a high profile State Government department. They are looking for a Senior Procurement Officer in Goods and Services at an AO7 or AO8 level depending on your experience.
About the role:
This is responsible for the procurement governance, sourcing, support services, and management of specialised equipment, general goods and services, fleet and ICT procurement contracts, standing officer arrangements and panel arrangements in compliance with Queensland procurement policy and Queensland Government Contract Management Framework.
Reporting to the Principal Procurement Officer, Specialised Equipment and General Goods and Services, you will be responsible for managing procurement processes relating to contracts as well as establishing standing offer arrangements and panel arrangements within the specialised equipment and general goods and services category. You will work collaboratively with staff and stakeholders to achieve fit-for-purpose outcomes through best practice procurement activities to meet organisational objectives.
Up to two work from home days available after initial onboarding/settling period.
Responsibilities will include:
Manage strategic medium to high risk procurement projects for equipment, products and services and ensure positive outcomes to meet client and stakeholder objectives.
Provide high level advice relating to procurement and contract management matters to facilitate procurement planning and ensure adherence to procurement policy and departmental objectives are achieved.
Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external clients, vendors and staff to ensure procurement services are responsive to current and future needs.
Administer strategic contracts in collaboration with contract managers in accordance with the principles and standards of contract management policy and frameworks.
Assist in the preparation of reports, submissions, briefs and other correspondence relating to procurement contract matters in accordance with department requirements.
Work effectively in a professional working environment, fostering team work and encourage staff commitment and innovation, including actively participating in performance and development programs.
About you:
Government experience, essential.
Experience with SAP, QTenders and other relevant government procurement systems, highly desired.
Substantive procurement experience at a senior level, essential.
Experience in goods and services procurement.
