Building our team
Incat is now welcoming applications for apprenticeship opportunities in Fabrication and Welding. Apprentices will work towards completing a Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication and Welding Trade). Successful candidates will need to be available to commence in July 2024.
This position will be based at our shipyard in the picturesque Prince of Wales Bay, just 7km from Hobart’s city centre.
In this role, you will benefit by:
- Opportunity to help build the world's leading aluminium vessels
- Learning a variety of welding and fabrication techniques
- Exposure to a dedicated apprenticeship training team
- 4-day work week (when assigned into a production crew)
To be an Incat apprentice, you will be someone who:
- Will finish Year 10 by the date of commencement
- Have a White Card by the date of commencement
- Be an Australian Citizen
- Be willing to attend a pre-employment medical assessment
- A willingness to learn and work as part of a team
- An enthusiastic, dedicated and driven approach to work
- Hands on learner with a genuine interest in welding and fabrication
- A desire to study hard and learn new skills
- Reliable with positive workplace behaviour
- A commitment to workplace health and safety
