The Role
- The role of 13 Combat Service Support Battalion (13 CSSB) is to provide logistics and support to the 13th Brigade (13 BDE) in order to support training and operations.
- The Role of an APS 3Logistics Officer is situated within 13 CSSB Main Warehouse and Quartermaster Store.
- An APS 3Logistics Officer is accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve moderately complex inventory management work within an integrated workforce.
- They are expected to be available to work up to 2200 hours on an Army Reserve training night and on weekends in support of Army Reserve Exercises when required.
- They may be required to respond to short notice/out of hours tasking in support of the BDE.
- The APS 3Logistics Officer is responsible for equipping unit personnel with military and specialist technical equipment, as well as maintaining, storing, stocktaking and disposing of equipment and supplies.
- They are accountable to have a good understanding of, and compliance to, relevant Defence Logistics legislative frameworks, Defence’s mission and Defence's policy requirements.
About our Team
Our team is located within Irwin Barracks, Karrakatta, Perth and operate out of 13 Combat Service Support Battalion (13 CSSB) Main Quartermaster Store (Main Q) and Warehouse.
13 CSSB’s Main Q and Warehouse staff consists of a combination of members of the Australian Army and Australian Public Service operating as one team.
The 13 CSSB Main Q and Warehouse team are responsible for the Supply Chain Management requirements that enable the support requirements to 13 CSSB and 13 Brigade (BDE).
The team conducts the provision, supervision and management of most Classes of Supply; provides advice on storage, handling and disposal of dangerous goods; performs Unit Resource functions including procurement and negotiating contracts; and manages compliance within Defence Corporate Governance requirements.

- Work collaboratively with stakeholders (both internal and external) and subject matter experts to resolve logistics matters.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Have exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Be ready to adapt to the implementation of the new Defence Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Program system (SAP S/4HANA).
- Demonstrate commitment to the Defence Behaviours.
