The Role
The Role of this APS 4Logistics Officer is situated within the 16th Battalion, The Royal Western Australia Regiment (16 RWAR) Main Quartermaster Store.
An APS 4Logistics Officer is accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve moderately complex inventory management work within an integrated workforce.
The 16 RWAR APS 4Logistics Officer is responsible for equipping unit personnel with military and specialist technical equipment, conducting local purchasing, as well as maintaining, storing, stocktaking equipment, vehicles and supplies.
They are accountable to have a good understanding of, and compliance to, relevant Defence Logistics legislative frameworks, Defence’s mission and Defence's Logistics policy requirements.
The 16 RWAR APS 4Logistics Officer will be required to share information, monitor work practices, set work priorities and develop local procedures.
They may supervise and provide leadership to a team, providing coaching and on-the-job training for newer and less experienced team members.
The successful applicant to this role is expected to be available to work up to 2200 hours on Tuesday Army Reserve training nights and on selected weekends in support of Army Reserve Exercises.

Located in Perth, 16th Battalion, The Royal Western Australia Regiment (16 RWAR) is part of the 13th Brigade (13 Bde) within Western Australia whose role is to generate Army force elements and specialist capabilities in support of Army's capability and operations.
The Role of 16 RWAR is to generate and maintain specified operational capabilities IOT effectively and sustainably contribute to 13 Bde capability. The 16 RWAR Quartermaster team are responsible to the Commanding Officer for the Supply Chain Management requirements that enable the support requirements to 16 RWAR and 13 Bde.
The team conducts the provision, supervision and management of most Classes of Supply; provides advice on storage, handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals and dangerous goods; performs Unit Resource functions including local purchasing; and manages compliance within Defence Corporate Governance requirements.

Our Ideal Candidate
- Have relevant experience or demonstrable knowledge in Defence inventory management processes such as stocktaking, procurement, and planning maintenance;
- Have relevant experience or demonstrable knowledge in managing a fleet of vehicles;
- Have relevant experience or demonstrable knowledge in the management of Hazardous Chemicals (HAZCHEM) in the Workplace;
- Be able to work in a fluid environment by remaining flexible, agile and adaptable to the needs of the customer;
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders (both internal and external) and subject matter experts to resolve logistics matters;
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Have exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy; and
- Be ready to adapt to the implementation of the new Defence Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Program system (SAP S/4HANA).
