The role of Resource and Directed Training Requirement Officer is a full time position responsible for the resourcing and management of training. Working directly for the Major Operations Officer (MAJ OPSO), the role is responsible for managing the overall unit training schedule, managing and allocating resources to enable the training schedule, track and report resource usage, manage and nominate 1st Recruit Training Battalion staff for external courses and assist in the future planning of the unit training schedule.About our Team
The Operations cell at 1st Recruit Training Battalion consists of a mix of APS and Army members. It is led by a Major Operations Officer (MAJ OPSO) and is comprised of a mix of APS and Army members who are responsible for the daily running of the unit. Their tasks include finance management, scheduling of activities, coordinating visits, coordinating WHS reporting and management and liaison with external stakeholders. The Operations team is required to coordinate and manage the training schedule, which is then provided to the Training Companies for execution.Our Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will be required to organise their workflow, work to tight timeframes, and make independent decisions relating to their area of responsibility. They will need to be able to research data and deliver written and verbal reports to management. They will be required to have and maintain a well-developed understanding of and compliance with relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements. Previous experience with government/corporate training management systems, resource management, government purchasing and data analysis is preferred.
